Rental Policy
Initial rentals are for one month and the rental fee is payable at the beginning of the rental period. The renter will sign a rental agreement upon receipt of the rental equipment. A receipt for the rental fee will be issued by the Equipment Rental Chairman (ERC) when payment is made.
Equipment will be returned to the location (usually their home) designated by the ERC. Equipment will be returned in the same condition as when it was rented (i.e. heddles on heddle bars, carding machine in working order, etc.) or renter will be charged an additional month's rent. If any equipment is damaged or lost, the renter will reimburse the Guild for said damage or loss. Rentals are renewable until other requests are received provided the extension is approved by the ERC and payment for the additional rental period is sent to the ERC at the beginning of the rental extension.

Equipment not returned within 24 hours of the return due date will incur late charges. Daily late charges will be assessed at a rate equal to 5% of the monthly rental fee until the equipment is returned. The member who has signed the rental agreement is responsible for the equipment and any late fees incurred until the equipment is returned to the ERC. Any deviation from this procedure (i.e. the guild member who lives next door to you has reserved the loom after you and would like to pick it up from your home) must be approved by the ERC PRIOR to the equipment leaving your possession.

If total rental fee and/or late charges are not paid, or if reimbursement for the damage or loss is not made, the renter forfeits their good standing as a guild member and forfeits all borrowing privileges (including, but not limited to, the guild library and rental equipment), purchasing privileges (including, but not limited to, sale tags and cards), and workshop privileges. Requests for exceptions due to unusual circumstances can be made to the board. All equipment shall be returned by the end of May for a thorough inspection and inventory before summer rentals.
