2011-2012 Meeting Schedule

Sep. 12  7-9 pm Portage Senior Center

Approaching Color Fearlessly, Kathrin Weber. "I will bring a few pieces of my finished work and present a power point presentation of my work process with images from the world that inspire me. I use these images as talking points for approaching dyeing and designing, for choosing colors that are effective in project scale and intent, for finding comfort in color and for challenging fiber artists to reach beyond comfort. I will talk about some of the technical aspects of the use of color and the personal connection to color combinations. "

Oct 10  7-9 pm Portage Senior Center

Color, the Trish Lange Way, Trish Lange. As a production ‚one of a kind‛ weaver, Trish has developed a system for warping with color that allows her to weave 15 or more garments on one warp, no two alike. We will play with color to develop our own warp and weft combinations and break some color “rules” to discover how to make fabric with “zing”.
